Lauren Roberts grew up in Austin, TX where she graduated from Veritas Academy in 2015. While there, she produced and designed lighting for 12 shows including The Music Man, Enemy of the People, Reckless, and Front, which won the TAPPS State One Act title her senior year and she received the Texas State One Act Crew Award. From there, Lauren took technical theater courses at Texas State, interned as a shop tech at Ilios Lighting Design, and eventually moved to Nashville where she successfully ran a lighting design company for two years as production manager, warehouse manager, and assistant to the owner. Returning to Austin, she started freelancing as a lighting designer and systems tech for both theater and live show events. Lauren is currently an Associate Production Director at Gateway Church, overseeing both the Gateway South and Buda campuses. Lauren is excited to work with CYT to both help develop and encourage the next generation of production professionals, and bring a well rounded knowledge of technical theater to all involved!
