Class Description

There's trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian in this adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway classic.

CYT Austin is proud to present a Summer production of Meredith Willson's six-time-Tony-Award-winning musical comedy, The Music Man JR. features some of musical theatre’s most iconic songs and a story filled with wit, warmth and good old-fashioned romance.  The Music Man JR. is family entertainment at its best — a bold, brassy show that will have the whole town atwitter!

All students enrolled in this class will be cast in the production. Auditions will be submitted via video:
  1. Choose and practice one of the audition sides
  2. Record your audition and compress (if possible) the video
  3. Fill out the paperwork
  4. Upload your video and your paperwork by April 15!
A few students will be asked to come to in-person callbacks on Saturday, April 17. Final cast list will be sent by April 23. If we have more students than Covid-19 protocols will allow we will double cast and students will perform in at least two shows each, the week of June 20th - 26th.  Rehearsals will be held on (8) Saturdays, with the week of Memorial Day weekend off.  Some cast members may be required to attend a few dance rehearsals on Friday evenings at Art Beat dance studio.

Masks will be required at all rehearsals and students must practice social distancing.
