More Than Just a Show!

CYT's programs are about so much more than musical theater! We are dedicated to developing character in children and adults one stage at a time.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are able to serve our community by providing quality, affordable educational programs, and productions. However, ticket sales and class tuition are not sufficient to cover the cost of delivering top-notch programming.

A gift to CYT is an investment in an established, family-oriented organization that helps provide young people a safe, wholesome environment and skills to make better life choices so that they become positive, contributing members of their community. CYT also allows young people to explore the arts in an atmosphere that nurtures their inner creativity while developing their character

CYT is the single greatest thing I will ever be apart of. It has shaped who I am today and I wouldn't change one second of it. It has given me friends when I had none. It has given me life and it has given me hope.

Donor Benefits

CYT relies on the donations of patrons so we can provide quality theater education across the country. According to “The Value and Quality of Arts Education: A Statement of Principles”, students who participate in the arts do better in school, stay in school longer, and win more academic awards. They are also three times more likely to go to college and become more confident, considerate, pro-social and pro-civic citizens! Your generous donation ensures that our students are given these benefits, so that they can go on to build a stronger world for future generations.

"Standing O" Club

The CYT Standing “O” Club is part of our commitment to excellence and provides support that CYT can count on! Members of the “Standing O” Club are people or businesses who support CYT with a monthly or special monetary gift. That support is vital to the financial health of CYT and helps us continue to provide training in the arts in an atmosphere of excellence.

Tim and Julie Novak

Julie Novak has been teaching and directing theater in a school and community setting for over 20 years. While teaching at the renowned Valley Christian Conservatory, in San Jose, California, she developed her own theater arts curriculum for students 6-8 grades and a curriculum for students 6-12 grade while teaching and directing at Summit Christian Academy in Austin, Texas. Julie has directed plays, musicals, one acts, musical reviews, competition scenes, concerts and benefit shows too numerous to count! She has been trained in a multitude of acting techniques, such as the Wheeler Recording Method, On Camera Acting, Improvisational Acting, various vocal genres and public speaking. Outside of her teaching career she has worked as an acting coach, speaker, ghostwriter, vocalist and done voice over studio work. Her greatest love is working with young people in the arts and helping them develop confidence and belief in their personal gift set. Julie began CYT Austin a year and a half ago after she felt called to take her passion to speak life and encouragement into young people through the arts, outside the walls of a school and into her community. Tim has spent over 30 years, leading, coaching, and mentoring individuals, and teams in the area of sales and business management.

Rebecca McPherson

Rebecca is an art and stage craft teacher at Summit Christian Academy. She has been working with Julie Novak for the last 6 years designing and making props and sets for numerous shows. She also works with other local schools and theater companies on their productions. Her greatest desire though, is to speak life into children's lives. She feels blessed to be able to work with kids AND create unique things on a daily basis.
